DrJonathan Sinclair
I lead the teams that turn complex, sensitive problems into secure, accessible products people can trust.
Chief Technology Officer at Inclutech, Chartered Engineer and Chartered IT Professional. I lead UX and engineering teams across accessible experience, data and analytics, and security and privacy — delivering technology in regulated, safety-critical and public-interest domains, and sitting on the boards and panels that govern it.
I lead the teams that build technology people can trust — and I'm rigorous about how it's governed.
For two decades I've led engineering organisations through technology's harder problems — threat analytics at Alert Logic, cloud research at SAP, and scaling a 50-strong platform team across four geographies at HighRoads. Today I lead the UX and engineering teams at Inclutech, taking products from concept to live service.
My role isn't to write every line of code; it's to set the direction, shape the architecture and decisions, and bring people together to deliver well. I work where the consequences are real — sensitive data, vulnerable users, regulated partners — joining up accessible experience, data and analytics, and security and privacy so the products my teams build are usable, evidence-led and defensible under scrutiny.
I bring the same discipline to governance. As a Chartered Engineer and Chartered IT Professional with a Certificate in Company Direction, I weigh evidence against defined standards and reach decisions that hold up — which is why I contribute to advisory boards, professional bodies and independent committees across technology, public safety and grassroots sport.

Six disciplines that meet at the same point: trust.
Whatever the domain, a product only earns trust if every layer does — the experience, the data, the security, and the way the work is led.
Engineering & UX leadership
Building and leading high-performing UX and engineering teams — from a handful of specialists to 50+ across multiple geographies — and taking products from concept to live service.
Accessible & inclusive experience
Treating accessibility as a first-class requirement, not a secondary path — designing for real people, including those under stress or facing barriers to mainstream services.
Data & analytics
Turning data into decisions — analytics platforms, dashboards and business intelligence that give partners and operators a clear, evidence-led view of what's happening.
Security, privacy & compliance
Security strategy, data protection and privacy by design, backed by ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials and a research background in compliance auditing — assurance evidenced, not asserted.
Secure cloud architecture
Defence-in-depth, tenant isolation, encryption and audit on AWS — architectures a small team can operate safely and explain to partners during due diligence.
Responsible AI & innovation
Bringing AI into sensitive workflows demonstrably safe, fair and transparent — and turning research into funded, commercialised products, with three granted patents along the way.
Inclutech — public safety, built to be trusted.
Public safety is where these disciplines come together most visibly. Inclutech is the UK's only DSIT-accredited public-safety technology company integrating with all four emergency services, and I lead UX, product strategy, cloud security architecture and delivery across the portfolio.
A live, non-verbal route to 999.
TapSOS lets people who can't make a voice call — through disability, danger or distress — reach emergency services and share their situation and location. It's the foundation the rest of the portfolio is built on, designed around accessibility, evidential reliability and proportionate use of sensitive location data.
TapDA & TapPA
A covert domestic-abuse reporting tool that lets victims document evidence and alert help without speaking — and a companion tool to monitor perpetrators' compliance with bail conditions.
TapSOS WorkSafe
A safety app for people who work alone, extending the platform's alerting and location capability into occupational-safety contexts, with a discreet stealth mode for higher-risk situations.
TapTravel & NightCommute
Non-verbal incident reporting for public transport, and a women's- and girls'-safety service for hours of darkness with venue safety ratings and journey-sharing — both progressed through competitive UK innovation funding.
Security & compliance posture
Achieved ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials with zero non-conformances, meeting the assurance bar expected by emergency services, transport operators and public bodies — privacy and safeguarding embedded across the product lifecycle.

Invited to speak at sector conferences and government roundtables on the future of AI, next-generation emergency services and inclusive public-safety technology.
My work maps directly onto several UN Sustainable Development Goals — not as a badge, but as the outcomes the technology and advocacy are built to serve.
From cloud research to the front line of public safety.
Founded and lead the engineering and UX organisation delivering a public-safety platform and mobile portfolio from concept to live service — product strategy, cloud security architecture, accessibility and compliance.
Led a 50+ engineer platform organisation across four geographies; established the company's first engineering centre outside the US — recognised as DDNA Company of the Year 2021 — and delivered 50% operational cost savings.
Built the team and product portfolio in property technology using 3D, AR and VR — and conceived a patent portfolio with two granted filings.
Conceived and led a threat-analytics platform adopted as a core service, working with research, intelligence and SOC teams, and establishing Belfast engineering operations.
Cloud and high-performance-computing research across EU FP7 programmes (HARNESS, OPTIMIS, RESERVOIR), alongside a PhD in compliance auditing for cloud-based business applications.
Let's talk about safer technology — and how it should be led.
I'm based in Belfast and open to board, advisory and non-executive roles, sector collaboration, and speaking engagements across public safety, cyber security and responsible technology.
